Hi there! My name is Dave Skelton and I am an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) having been assessed and authorised by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). I was awarded an A grade, during my most recent assessment by the DVSA. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and my approach to teaching driving to help you decide whether we can work together to make you a safe and confident driver.
I have over 30 years of experience of professional driving, from cars and vans right up to HGV lorries. This has given me a wealth of practical knowledge of driving and roads and a passion for road safety, which I now pass on to others.
I have recently, relocated to Stone in Staffordshire to be closer to family. Pervious to moving in November 2024 I have been an instructor in the Scarborough/Malton and Pickering areas of North Yorkshire.
As an instructor, I believe that everyone learns in a different way, and I would like to reassure you that I will make every attempt to cater to your individual learning style. I aim to adopt a client-centred approach to your learning, helping you to reflect about your driving skills throughout our sessions. My goal is not to simply teach pupils to pass the driving test (although this is obviously important), but to become a safe driver for life.
I recommend that lessons are booked in one and a half-hour (90 minute) slots to maximise learning and practical driving time. A one and a half-hour lesson is charged at £58. In exceptional circumstances subject to availability, I can offer one-hour lessons, but these will be charged at £40.
I am happy to give booster lessons to experienced full licence holders as well as teaching pupils with no previous driving experience and anyone in between, so if you think I can help you, then please get in touch and let’s get driving!
